A video that shows the sheer force with which Pant hit a six during his training session at the Delhi Capitals’ pre-season camp has gone popular on social networking site X (previously Twitter).

Pant was hit with an alluring full-length ball on the stumps, which the southpaw lofted easily to deep mid-wicket.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said on Tuesday that Pant will play in the 2019 IPL as both a wicketkeeper and a batsman, providing cheer to cricket fans all throughout the nation. There has been conjecture surrounding the 26-year-old’s potential position and the physical capacity to bear the demands of the job.

With the T20 World Cup slated for June 2024, Pant’s prospects of getting selected for the Indian squad were significantly updated earlier this week by BCCI secretary Jay Shah.

“He is keeping up well and batting well.” We’ll quickly proclaim him fit. It would be very significant for us if he could play for us in the T20 World Cup. He is very helpful to us. He can participate in the World Cup if he can keep it. According to news agency PTI, Jay Shah said, “Let’s see how he does in the IPL.”

Pant recently spoke about how he managed to stay calm throughout the stressful period he was away from the cricket pitch in an interview.

“I was having a great time, which is why I was sad.” But I had to make sure I didn’t feel sorry for myself. I was keeping myself sane in this way. I don’t want to believe that I’m adopting a new stance, that this is my first time making a debut, or that I’ve simply taken a vacation. All I want is to experience the sensation of being on the ground once again. Pant told The Times of India, “I need that internal feeling that I am just continuing with my career.”
